Rated: He is a three-star prospect, 28th-ranked running back in the South Region, and No. 72 in the country.
Scouting Report: Turner had an outstanding junior campaign and his recruitment exploded after the season.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Turner does many things well. He is a patient runner and does a nice job following blocks. Turner has good vision, runs with great balance and is very quick. Once he sees an opening, he attacks and gets up field.
The Buford standout is very instinctive, shows good anticipation and can make people miss. Although he is not the biggest back, Turner shows good power and can run between the tackles. He also has the ability to bounce plays outside. Turner also catches the ball well out of the backfield our he can line up in the slot.
Like all players, there are areas where he can improve. When it comes to Turner, he needs to continue to add weight and get stronger. He also needs to continue to work on his top-end speed. None of these are major concerns and will improve once he gets into Michigan's strength and conditioning program.
Final Thought: Turner is a great addition to Michigan's 2018 recruiting class.
Although he may not be as highly-touted as their other commitments, Turner is a prospect that continues to get better. He could benefit from a redshirt year, but could also step in and contribute immediately because of his versatility.
Regardless, he has nice upside and will ultimately be a dynamic weapon in Michigan's offense.
