Elite '19 QB J.T Daniels Recaps Washington Visit, Alabama, Stanford on deck

Sana Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei sophomore quarterback visited Washington over the weekend and the Huskies made a very nice impression on the gifted signal caller.

J.T. Daniels is one of the top quarterbacks in the national 2019 class and will be in the running for top overall player in the region as a senior.

Daniels has been putting up video game numbers since he was a freshman and has a chance to break some historic records by the time he is done at Mater Dei. It's rare to find a quarterback with his natural ability to throw the football and his feel, timing and anticipation are well beyond his years.

On the recruiting front, Daniels is well past the double digit offer mark and had a chance to check out the Washington Huskies over the weekend.

"It was an amazing trip," Daniels said. "I think the things that stood out the most were the overall  atmosphere there and the energy on the campus. Getting to know Coach (Chris) Petersen and Coach (Jonathan) Smith was a great experience as well, they're both great guys and I really enjoyed being around them.

"I was able to sit down and talk football with both of them. They're very bright guys with a lot of knowledge. I love the system they're in and they're definitely building something special there. Coach Smith is just a real genuine guy and everyone I met out there was first class so it was a great visit."

Over the last few years, several players we've talked to have commented on Coach Petersens life skills program and Daniels was no exception.

"I loved it," Daniels said. "Coach Petersen is about more than just producing great football players, he's trying to create great men. I really vibe with him well and this trip really impressed, even more than I expected it to. I was already giving UW a hard look but after this trip, I definitely see them as a place I could be very happy at."

Daniels will head South for his next visit.

"I'm going to Alabama next week and then Stanford on May 12," Daniels said. "I'm pumped up for both visits. Alabama is obviously a great program and I'm coming up with a couple of my teammates so that should be a lot of fun.

"I've liked Stanford for a while so I'm looking forward getting out there. Stanford hasn't offered yet, they do things a little differently there but I'm excited to visit and check the place out."
