San Bernardino (Calif.) Aquinas running back Branden Rankins is hoping the spring nets him an offer.
The three-star made the trek out to Purdue earlier this month and while he left without an offer, he raved about his time there.
“It was an amazing experience,” said Rankins. “I got to meet some wise coaches with a great staff. I can really see myself going there.”
Rankins said he enjoyed spending time with the Purdue coaches
“I was with Coach Barclay and Coach Shepard mostly,” said Rankins. “I liked the way the coaches didn’t sugarcoat how it would be if I attended school there. The way they are with their players reminds me of the way that I’ve been coached throughout high school.”
Despite no offer, Rankins was encouraged by the visit.
“I’m really interested in Purdue and hope to get an offer from them,” said Rankins. “I really like how they’re going to run their program. They are the one school that has been showing a lot of interest.”
Rankins is hearing steadily from a number of schools
“I’m hearing a lot from Fresno State, Arizona State and San Diego State,” said Rankins.
And he hopes to check out a few more schools.
“Hawaii, Washington State, Cal and Utah and maybe more depending on if I’m able to or not,” said Rankins.
