Cameron Phillips: One Of Ohio's Best 2019 WR Prospects

BEREA, Ohio -- Although 2019 wide receiver Cameron Phillips isn't the most well known prospect in Ohio, he is one of the most productive. As he has done all year, Phillips keeps showing up to top camps and proving he has the talent to play at the next level.

Although 2019 wide receiver Cameron Phillips might not be the biggest or flashiest, the Westeville (OH) Central product keeps impressing at every camp he attends.

Phillips won the wide receiver MVP award at last Sunday's Cleveland Opening Regional. He has great hands and knows how to get open.

He has established himself as a player to watch in the Midwest after a solid sophomore season. He holds one offer and is on the college recruiting radar.

"I have an offer from Illinois, and they were my first offer," Phillips stated. "They saw my film and that really interested them, and they invited me to come to campus to meet the coaching staff."

"They offered me on the visit, and it blew me away, to be honest," he added. "It was great meeting (head coach) Lovie Smith, and he was a great guy. I want to go back for their spring game, and I'm very interested in Illinois."

Several other schools are aware of Phillips, and he has taken a few unofficial visits in effort to learn about each program.

"I'm also hearing from schools like CincinnatiPittsburghOhio StateMichigan State and Virginia," he said. "I was at Ohio State for practice recently, and everything was high intensity and about competing. They want me to come around more often, and also come to camp."

"The Pittsburgh facilities are great, and they share it with the Steelers," he explained. "The Pitt coaches are great, and they're showing me a lot of attention. I like the school a lot."

Scout will continue to track Phillips going forward, and will report any new offers or visits.
