Head and Johnson have manufactured a tight-knit relationship from their prep days at Southridge, and exchanged texts after Head received word of his Tennessee offer as well.

"I spoke with the staff over the phone," Head said. "Offensive coordinator (Larry) Scott said he likes my film. I also spoke with the defensive line coach (Brady Hoke), and we talked about Deandre Johnson being a big part in this upcoming season.

"Me and Deandre get in contact often."

Head has no clear front-runners in his recruitment, but is brimming with joy after receiving an opportunity to showcase his talent in a stadium filled with well over 100,000 fans.

"I don't have a top school as of now, but Tennessee is definitely one with high interest," Head said. "I plan on visiting in the summer."

Head is also tagged as the 16th-ranked defensive end in the Sunshine State.
