4-Star WR "Blue" Smith Checking All Options

BEREA, Ohio -- Wide receiver L'Christian "Blue" Smith is one of Ohio's top prospects and he has the offer list to back that up. Smith is looking at several schools right now.

Four-star wide receiver L'Christian Smith has been putting up big numbers in Ohio for Huber Heights Wayne the past few years, and he is ranked as the nation's number-34 wideout.

Smith already holds an impressive offer list, and he is in the process of investigating the schools he has interest in. He will be at Ohio State this weekend for the Buckeye spring game.

"Things are good with Ohio State, and I'm keeping close contact with Coach Zach (Smith)," Smith stated. "I'm going there for their spring game, and I want to talk with them a little bit more about things."

"I've pretty much seen everything there I need to see, but I want to see about the tight end stuff from them," he added. "I want to make that clear that I feel I'm a wide receiver and that's where I want to play."

"I don't have any interest in playing tight end at all," he continued. "I think I've proven to everybody I'm a wide receiver, but maybe I need to show people a little more."

Kentucky has also made a good impression on Smith, and the Wildcats are clearly in the running to land this top playmaker.

"I have a teammate, Alex Reigelsperger, committed there and he's in my ear all the time at school about going to Kentucky," he admitted. "I like Kentucky a lot and I think they're coming up. The next few recruiting classes should help them get better."

"I like it when I'm down there, and my cousin Tobias Gilliam is down there and I think he will be starting this year, so I've got some ties down there," he said.

Smith is planning on making his decision in a few months, and he explained exactly what he's looking for in a school.

"I'm going to be making my decision in September," Smith noted. "What I'm looking for is a place that I know I will be taken care of, and a place I view as home basically."

"Even when I commit in September I'm still going to be taking all my official visits," he stressed. "I'm enjoying the process and I'm going to enjoy it all the way through."

"I want to see as many schools as possible, and I have a visit upcoming to Notre Dame in two weeks," he concluded.

Scout will continue to track Smith over the coming months and will report on any new developments in his recruitment.
