ACC, SEC programs first to offer four-star 2019 DE Dante Walker

Four-star 2019 Riverdale (Ga.) defensive end Dante Walker has emerged as one of the top rising juniors in the state and he spoke with Scout about the latest developments in his recruitment.

Dante Walker's stock is rising rapidly.

Due to his efforts, multiple major programs are recruiting him.

"I have offers from Mississippi StateNorth Carolina and Georgia," said the 6-foot-3, 240-pound Walker. "Notre Dame is also recruiting me."

North Carolina was the latest school to offer.

"They had a great season last year and are a great team," Walker said. "They also have a lot of great players and play with a lot of energy. I haven't visited yet, but hopefully I'll be able to soon. It will probably be sometime this spring and I'm looking forward to seeing the campus and seeing if I feel at home.

"(Linebackers) coach (Mike) Ekeler is recruiting me. He's told me they like my speed and the way I move. He stays in contact and always wants to know how I'm doing."

Georgia is recruiting him hardest.

"They're obviously an in-state program and a powerhouse team, so it feels great to get so much interest from them. I've visited a lot and I'm very familiar with the program.

"Coach (Kirby) Smart is the main person recruiting me and it's been great getting to know him. He's a great guy and he's funny. Last time I was there, he took the time to speak to me one-on-one. He just told me to keep working hard in the classroom and to always go hard on the field."

As for camps this summer, he will head to Florida State and Georgia.
