White emerged as a Power Five-caliber recruit following a strong junior season. Oklahoma State is one of his five P5 offers, along with Ole Miss, TCU, Texas A&M, and UCLA. The Cowboys offered White on April 7, merely a week prior to his visit to Stillwater, which was his first.
"Loved it. Been anticipating this visit for months, and now that I finally made it, I liked everything about it," White said. "This was my second time (to visit Oklahoma State). First time was for the Pitt game.
"I like a lot about OSU, especially how they're growing as a team, and the culture they have as a team is a lot different than any other team I've seen thus far."
Oklahoma State is the latest program White visited during a busy spring semester, which has so far included trips to Houston, Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU, UCLA, Texas A&M, and Texas. OU and Texas have yet to offer.
White said defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer targeted him as a high priority for the Cowboys' 2018 class.
"Coach Spencer told me I am the biggest target his defense is after," White said. "I'm 'the only guy in the nation he's on this hard.' Also got to chop it up with (defensive graduate assistant) coach (Andre) Sexton, who I have the strongest relationship among any other coach with."
So with the Pokes' emphasis on recruiting White, and his second visit living up to expectations, where does OSU stand with White after the trip?
"Can't lie to you," he said. "They're on the upper tier. Top few."
White, who holds more than a dozen offers and will land plenty more during the spring evaluation period (April 17-May 31), said he plans to release a list of his top schools "within the next month or two."
For now, White said his concentration lies on improving as he prepares for his senior season.
"Maintaining speed as I gain the right weight," White said, "getting more explosive, and being an even better leader on and off the field."
