Elite 2019 Tight End Grayson Boomer Talks Oklahoma Visit

Grayson Boomer, a 2019 four-star tight end, told Scout about his visit this past weekend to see the in-state Oklahoma Sooners.

Several high-major programs have targeted 2019 four-star tight end Grayson Boomer, the latest of which being the Oklahoma Sooners, who offered the elite in-state underclassman April 7 before he visited this past weekend.

Boomer, a two-way starter for Collinsville High just north of Tulsa, also owns offers from Arkansas, Iowa State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Tulsa. Boomer recently visited Arkansas and Oklahoma State.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Boomer came away from his OU visit with rave reviews.

"Oklahoma was super impressive," Boomer said. "Everything was amazing.

"I went to the Ohio State game and it was very, very electric. It gave you chills walking into the stadium. This visit I went behind the scenes and saw all the new things being built and it was incredible."

Boomer said he spent the most time with assistant head coach/inside receivers coach Cale Gundy and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Lincoln Riley.

"They were amazing. They made me feel right at home," Boomer said. "They said, 'We need a guy like you who can always be on the field because you can block and split out and run routes very well with a big body.'"

Boomer said that "OU stands very high" with him after the visit, adding that, "Everything was amazing, from the people to the facilities."

Next up for Boomer? He hopes to return to Arkansas for the Hogs' spring game and wants to make a trip north this offseason as well.

"I believe this summer I might be going up to Notre Dame," said Boomer, who's taking his time with the recruiting process. "I'll probably have a top list by the end of the summer."

In addition to fitting in visits on his schedule, Boomer concentrates on improving his skills as a well-rounded tight end prospect.

"As a tight end you need to be working out everything in order to do everything on the field," Boomer said. "So I'll be working on everything in order to be a better tight end and athlete."
