Three-star CB Taiyon Palmer ready to get to Duke

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer cornerback Taiyon Palmer committed to Duke last fall and is locked in on the Blue Devils. He spoke with Scout about his commitment, future and more at the recent Under Armour Atlanta camp.

Taiyon Palmer committed to Duke last September.

The Archer standout is happy with his decision.

"Duke is a prestigious university and offers a top-notch education," said the 5-foot-11, 164-pound Palmer. "I know when I graduate, I'll always have something to fall back on if football doesn't work out. I'm 100 percent committed and excited about my future at Duke."

Duke's coaching staff played a big role in his commitment.

"I talk to all of them and they're always honest with me," Palmer said. "I have a great relationship with the entire staff. They want me to come in and make a difference early."

Palmer is excited about playing for head coach David Cutcliffe.

"He's really turned the program around," Palmer said. "He knows what he's doing and he's a great coach. He's exciting, too, and fun to be around. The program is definitely going in the right direction."
