2019 ATH Salim Turner-Muhammad holds early ACC, Big Ten and SEC offers

Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal sophomore athlete Salim Turner-Muhammad is generating significant interest on the recruiting trail and he spoke with Scout.

Salim Turner-Muhammad's recruitment is gaining momentum.

GeorgiaRutgers and Virginia have offered, while DukeNorthwesternPenn State and Stanford are showing interest.

The Episcopal standout is visiting Penn State for the first time this weekend.

"I'm going up for the spring game and I'm very interested to learn more about the school," Turner-Muhammad said. "I also want to see the team's energy and how the players interact with each other.

"I know it's a great school academically and it's a very good football program and it's close to home. One of my teammates -- Jonathan Sutherland -- also signed with them in February.

"(Cornerbacks) coach (Terry) Smith is recruiting me. He's a great guy and he's shown a lot of interest. I'm looking forward to continuing to develop a relationship with him."

Besides Penn State, he doesn't have anything scheduled, but will likely visit Rutgers this summer.

"They were the first to offer and have been showing a lot of interest," said Turner-Muhammad, who is originally from New York. "It's also obviously close to home.

"I know a lot of players from New York who have or are going to play there in the future. All of them love the new coaching staff, atmosphere and playing close to home.

"The coaching staff has emphasized how important it is for the top local guys to play for Rutgers. They've also told me they like the way I play and want me to visit more."
