Missouri lands three-star Alabama QB prospect James Foster

Last month, three-star Alabama QB prospect James Foster went public with Missouri as his leader and on Wednesday he pulled the trigger to the Tigers.

In March, James Foster detailed why Missouri led for his services despite verbal offers and recent visits to both Alabama and Georgia. He also said he was closing in on making a decision.

The three-star Montgomery (Ala.) Lanier quarterback was not bluffing. He pulled the trigger to the Tigers on Wednesday afternoon and announced the decision via Twitter.

"I just felt it was the right time and it's a family there and I have a great bond with the coaches," he said following the announcement.

Foster previously said a summer decision was most likely, presumably after attending camps at other programs to validate verbal offers. But his most recent trek to Missouri placed the Tigers in a position which would prove to be tough to beat.

"Me and (offensive coordinator) coach (Josh) Heupel, we've got a great bond," he said in March. "He's been recruiting me since like the 10th grade. I went up there for a visit like two weeks ago and they just rolled out the red carpet.

"I fell in love with the place."

Foster chose Missouri over extensions from North Carolina, where he was once committed, Mississippi State, Louisville, Tennessee, South Carolina, Purdue, Cincinnati and many others.

At this time, he does not anticipate taking visits elsewhere now that he is on board with Missouri.
