Mater Dei has a loaded wide receiver corp with at least four players who project as BCS level prospects. Nikko Remigio is one of the headliners and should have a big senior season.
Remigio is a talented athlete with good speed and polish. He's a advanced route runner, explosive in and out of his breaks and runs well after the catch. He catches the ball well, knows how to get open and should be a very productive player at the next level.
On the recruiting front, Remigio has offers from schools all over the country but said five programs are currently on him hardest.
"The schools I'm talking with the most are Arizona, Navy, Nebraska, Tennessee and Wisconsin," Remigio said. "I haven't visited any of those schools yet so hopefully if I can, I'm going to try and visit all of them over the summer. I won't be taking any visits this spring, all my trips will be in the summer.
"The only camp I know I'm doing is the Cal Skills Camp on June 10th but I haven't solidified the rest of my schedule. If I'm able to visit all of those schools and find the right fit, I'll definitely make my decision at the end of the summer. If not, I'll take my official visits in the fall."
As for what he's looking for in a school, comfort level will be big for him.
"The biggest thing for me is finding a school that feels like a home away from home," Remigio said. "That includes the way the people are, the players and the coaches. The general overall feeling I have at the school, just being comfortable as a student and football player, will be the biggest thing for me."
