Cyclones give 2019 DE "amazing" first offer

St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College defensive end M.J. Anderson talks about his Iowa State offer, the first of his recruitment, and the other schools in contact.

Everything is moving in a good direction for St. Louis Christian Brothers College defensive end M.J. Anderson. The sophomore standout recently received his first scholarship offer from Iowa State, and a growth spurt bringing him from 6-foot-2, 215 pounds during the season to 6-foot-4, 240 pounds now should ensure that more college interest is coming.

On Thursday, he tweeted, "stay loyal to the ones who believed in you first," with the hashtag "cyclone19" clearly demonstrating he is appreciative of Iowa State jumping in first.

"To get my first offer was amazing to see the hard work I put in finally pay off," he said. "I don't know much about Iowa State, but ever since they offered me, I've been trying to get to know the coaching staff and the people."

In addition to the Cyclones, Anderson reports interest from Missouri and Illinois State. He is beginning to plan out visits now.

"I'm definitely making more than one trip up to Iowa State, but Missouri, I know I'm going to right now."

Anderson played standup outside linebacker and defensive end for CBC a year ago, he projects as a defensive end in college.
