Beau Allen stepped up for Lexington Catholic last year and proved he was no ordinary freshman. He started six games, including playoff games and passed for 1,158 yards and 13 touchdowns to only three interceptions.
Bowling Green became the first school to offer him on Wednesday night.
"I was very excited and very happy," he said, "and so fortunate to have coaches and teammates like I do that have helped me so much. I also knew and felt that I needed to keep on working hard and improving in order to help my team."
"I have not been to Bowling Green," Allen added. "I definitely hope to get there soon possibly over the summer."
At this early stage in time, Allen is drawing interest from quite a few other programs as well.
"I was invited to a Kentucky junior day, and I was invited to a game last season," he said. "I have a good relationship at Kentucky with coach Marrow, coach Hinshaw, and coach Schlarman. My high school coach Mark Perry has told me that Maryland, Washington State, Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, and Purdue have expressed interests."
This summer, he will throw for some of those schools and more in the coming months.
"I have plans for camps this summer starting off with The Opening Regional in Charlotte. I will be attending camps at UCLA, California, Purdue, Northwestern, possibly USC, Stanford, and Washington State, and hopefully some more local schools, possibly Kentucky, Cincinnati, Western Kentucky and Louisville."
