Junior Highlight Video and Analysis of Four-Star QB Jalen Mayden

Scout goes inside the film room to break down junior highlights of four-star quarterback Jalen Mayden from Sachse (Texas)...

Player Profile: Jalen Mayden

(Video will AutoPlay above)

Evaluation Notes:

Mayden -- a left-handed thrower -- is a quarterback who does not make a lot of mistakes with the football, despite the fact that he played at a high level of competition at a young age. His two older brothers are both D1 recruits and he got a head start on getting ready for the next level training wise, but he has already outgrown both of his older brothers. He grew and matured within his offense in 2015, using a wealth of weapons underneath as he was getting comfortable within the offensive scheme and he started working the field more vertically with each week. He can pull the ball down and run as his stats suggest, but he is more of pass first quarterback who will make his reads and progressions in the pocket.

As a junior, Mayden completed 198-of-295 passes for 2,840 yards and 27 touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions. He also rushed for 632 yards and 11 scores to earn 10-6A Offensive MVP and First Team All-District honors.

Recruiting Notes:

Mayden has a top five of Baylor, Louisville, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and Tennessee. He will announce on May 23.
