Ainias Smith, a 5-foot-9, 181-pound athlete from Fort Bend (Texas) Dulles was on campus for today's Georgia spring game and that is when he got the good news that the Bulldogs were going to be extending him an offer.
"I'm full of joy," Smith said.
"First off they offered me on both sides, so I am very pleased about that and to get my first offer and that Georgia is going to give me the opportunity to play for an SEC school."
Smith is the younger brother outgoing UGA defensive back Maurice Smith, so he is very familiar with the Bulldogs coaching staff, especially Kirby Smart who also coached Maurice at Alabama.
"Me and him we talk all the time," Smith said. "He told me that I was looking bigger. I also spoke with Coach Mel (UGA Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach Mel Tucker) and we are always cracking jokes."
"It was my first time to talk to coach Coley (UGA wide receivers coach James Coley) and he was the first person to tell me that I had an offer."
Smith finished in the Top 10 of testing at the WR position at The Opening Houston with a 92.7 Nike+ Rating.
