There were several underclassmen that stood out in Cleveland a few weeks ago at the Opening Regional, including Mansfield (OH) 2020 tight end Clay Caudill.
With an offer from Kentucky to his credit and several other schools showing interest, Caudill is one of the more well known freshmen in the Midwest.
"I was offered by Kentucky last summer," Caudill stated. "They saw me at a satellite camp in Ohio, and asked me to come to their own camp. After the Kentucky, camp (assistant coach) Vince Marrow offered me a scholarship."
"It was a shocking feeling to get that offer, and I'm using it as motivation to get better as a player," he added. "It was very exciting, and I'm training harder than ever. I play tight end, but I can also play linebacker or defensive end."
"I've gotten camp invites for this summer from Florida State, Ohio State, and a few other schools," he continued. "My coach is setting up a schedule of schools we are going to go to, and I want to get to as many camps as possible."
Scout will continue to track Caudill over the next few years, and more offers should be coming his way. He is one of the top 2020 prospects in Ohio.
