One of those suitors is Alabama, which rolled out the red carpet for a boatload of recruits this past weekend for the Crimson Tide's highly-anticipated A-Day Spring Game, with one being Gainer.
"It was a good trip to 'Bama," Gainer said. "I liked the facilities and tradition of winning and getting at it. I was impressed by how packed the stadium was, even though it was a spring game.
"Also, how well the early enrollees played. I liked the campus, atmosphere, and how the fans really buy into the football team and were into it, even though it was a spring game."
Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi are the Alabama coaches that stuck nearby and provided Gainer with that home-like feel throughout the weekend.
"They were telling me it was nice to see me again and how they want to see me move around over the summer at camp," Gainer said. "They said I am on their board for top prospects and that they want me at 'Bama."
Gainer, who says Florida State, Miami and Texas are recruiting him the hardest, hopes to decide before the start of his senior season.
