The Washington Huskies have recruited the wide receiver position extremely well recently and this year is no exception. The Huskies have early commitments from Austin Osborne, Marquis Spiker and Trey Lowe, who are all in the Scout 300 and four-star prospects.
We had a chance to see Osborne and Spiker in action over the weekend playing in the Players of the Future 7v7 event and both were very impressive. The two, who played for Premium Sports, were virtually inseparable all day off the field and a load to deal with on the field.
The two are similar in size, with Spiker a little bigger, pushing 6-4, 190 pounds while Osborne is 6-3, 180 pound range. Both have very strong hands, run well, are very good in jump ball situations and are advanced route runners coming from programs that feature the passing game.
Spiker and Osborne probably led the tournament in catches and touchdowns are extremely tough to match up with. Off the field, they have similar personalties as well, as both are fun loving, outgoing kids and very easy to get along with. They have very bright futures at Washington and it should be fun to watch them develop over the coming years.
We talked with both athletes during a break in the action to get their thoughts on playing together in college, why they chose the Huskies and who's the goofiest player in the Husky group chat.
