Analysis notes

Luke Matthews is a Power Five-caliber offensive lineman and one of the state of Texas' top prospects in the trenches in the 2018 recruiting class. Matthews is a burly, physical player who projects best as a mauling guard, which is exactly what he is for his high school program. Matthews thrives in the run game and does a good job for such a big, young prospect at locating and engaging linebackers at the second level when needed. He can improve his body control and leverage consistency, but he's solid technically and possesses an outstanding football pedigree, in addition to anchoring well in pass pro. Matthews could be an early contributor for a high-major program. - Gabe Brooks
