Ayodele Adeoye, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound inside linebacker from St. Louis (Mo.) Ritenour picked up his 23rd offer from Texas on Tuesday morning. The 'Horns have joined programs such as Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, LSU, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.
"It feels great," Adeoye said. "It is a blessing. I have always been working for this and it is just now paying off."
What have all of the colleges been able to see in Adeoye's skill set to lead to the offer rush?
"I can play outside, I can play inside, but me personally I am a run stopper," Adeoye said describing his strengths. "I am a thumper, so I would probably say inside linebacker. Most of the offers are for inside backer."
Adeoye recently made the trek down to Baton Rouge, La., to check out LSU and see what the program was all about.
"LSU is great," Adeoye said. "At LSU I met coach (Ed) Orgeron (LSU Head Coach), he is different than the rest of the coaches I have been around, he is a great guy.
Dave Aranda (LSU Defensive Coordinator) coached my brother (Adewale Adeoye) at Utah State and he is a great guy and I pretty much knew all about him and his resume."
"LSU is one of those schools that has a different atmosphere," Adeoye continued. "You see why they are at the top and do what they are doing by the way they practice -- high intensity, lots of energy, and I see why those guys win football games."
Adeoye broke down a few more of the unofficial visits he has been able to take.
"Illinois," Adeoye said as he recapped his stops. "I like Lovie Smith (Illinois Head Coach) and Hardy Nickerson. I liked the Mizzou (Missouri) visit. That was pretty good. KU (Kansas) was pretty nice too. That was different."
Who would he like to visit before he starts to narrow it down or think about making a commitment?
"I gotta see OU (Oklahoma)," Adeoyed pointed out. "I gotta see OU. Coach (Bob) Stoops (OU Head Coach) is a great coach, Coach (Tim) Kish is a great coach (OU Linebackers Coach). Those guys win football games."
"I gotta see Texas. It is more than just an offer with coach Todd Orlando."
Story Note: Texas offered Adeoye after the interview was completed.
The Scout 300 ILB is committed to play in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game.
Adeoye will graduate from high school early and be a mid-year enrollee.
