The above video features junior-season highlights of 2018 Scout 300 four-star inside linebacker Damone Clark.
Damone Clark, 2018 ILB, Baton Rouge (La.) Southern Lab
Size: 6-3, 215
Recruiting: Clark committed Jan. 15 to LSU. Clark also holds offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Florida, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Stanford, and Texas A&M.
Rankings: Scout ranks Clark as the No. 1 inside linebacker prospect in the state of Louisiana and the No. 5 ILB nationally for his class. Additionally, Clark is No. 203 overall in the 2018 Scout 300.
2016: As a junior, Clark recorded 48 tackles, four sacks, and four interceptions playing safety and outside linebacker.
Damone Clark is an intriguing prospect because of his frame and the wide spectrum of positions he's played in his high school career. Safety, linebacker, and tight end are among the positions he's spent time.
Clark's tall, long frame possesses a ton of space to add bulk. His physical nature translates well to the linebacker spot, where he will most likely play in college. If Clark plays inside/in the middle, he will be ahead the vast majority of players at that position when it comes to pass-coverage experience.
Clark defends the run, particularly the edge, vs. high school competition, but will need to add bulk/strength to disengage against larger college blockers.
Overall, he's a high-ceiling linebacker prospect who should be fun to watch develop once playing that spot full-time. - Gabe Brooks
