One of the Sunshine State's can't-miss prospects for the class of 2018 just pulled himself off the recruiting market by teaming up with coach Urban Meyer and Ohio State.
Sevyn Banks, a Scout 300 cornerback who is labeled as the nation's 292nd-ranked player overall, journeyed up to Columbus for the Buckeyes' spring game and is now firmly committed less than two weeks later.
A 2018 prospect at Orlando (Fla.) Jones, the four-star Banks is a hot commodity who is armed with additional offers from Florida, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Tennessee among others.
"The crowd and atmosphere was great," Banks recently told Scout. "Having over 80,000 fans there for just a spring game was crazy. I know some colleges can't even fit that many, but that atmosphere was good. Everybody loves the game and is ready for the season to start, including me.
"He (Urban Meyer) is the coolest legend ever. The coaching staff honestly tells you how it is there. They are very blunt and very genuine at the same time if that makes sense."
Banks, who tested exceptionally well at The Opening Orlando, is a fluid athlete who accelerates to the ball with ease. He shows anticipation and a burst when exploding out of his stance, and possesses the speed down the field to track down speedy ball carriers.
He is an efficient receiver as well, so getting vertical for the ball comes natural to him. Intriguing physical makeup and athleticism at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds.
Banks, who becomes Ohio State's ninth commitment for the class of 2018, is also labeled as the nation's 26th-ranked cornerback and 14th-ranked cornerback in the South.
As always, stay tuned to Scout.
