The top three quarterbacks in New Jersey are set to compete, and it begins with NC State commit and Erial (N.J.) Timber Creek's Devin Leary. Hightstown (N.J.) Peddie quarterback Allan Walters is committed to Vanderbilt, which leaves Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's Nick Patti as the top uncommitted quarterback in the state. Patti's offer list includes Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Boston College and Colorado State
Bronx Fordham Prep's Matt Valecce threw for Rutgers during the week and picked up an offer. Pittsburgh also offered during the week.
There is also a healthy portion of class of 2019 quarterbacks. Newark Barringer's Zamar Wise holds a Maryland offer, and Wayne (N.J.) DePaul's Ta'quan Roberson and Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep's Maasai Maynor also hold offers from Rutgers.
A few of the top uncommitted prospects in the East are set to perform, beginning with Vineland (N.J.) High's Isaih Pacheco. He has offers from a handful of schools, and two pushing the hardest for him at Maryland, where teammate Nihym Anderson is committed, and Rutgers. Nebraska lean Grahm Roberts of WIlmington (Del.) Concord and Kyle Dobbins of Richland (N.J.) St. Augustine are also slated to be there. Dobbins' lists his top schools as North Carolina, NC State, Rutgers and Temple comprise his top four.
A few of the top 2020 prospects in the area in Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco's Jalen Berger, who holds Michigan, Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers and Boston College offers, and Brooklyn PolyPrep's Lamy Constant, who has Michigan, Syracuse, Boston College and Rutgers offers, are on the roster.
Another top receiver, Penn State commit Justin Shorter of Monmouth Junction (N.J.) South Brunswick, will be there as will Staten Island Curtis' Amad Anderson, who added Wake Forest and Maryland offers in the last week. Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse and Boston College are among other schools to offer.
Scout 300 receiver Shaquon Anderson-Butts of Harrisburg (Pa.) High has Maryland, West Virginia, Penn State, Oregon and Nebraska high on his list and the loaded group of receivers also includes Aron Cruickshank of Brooklyn Erasmus Hall. He recently visited Penn State and holds the Nittany Lions in high regard. Michigan and Rutgers are also showing a lot of interest while teammate Sean Ryan holds Nebraska, Rutgers and Boston College offers.
Irvington (N.J.) High's Jasiah Provillon's offer list includes Maryland, Penn State, Michigan, Boston College, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Syracuse.
One of the more intriguing prospects signed up to play receiver is Zihir Lacewell of Staten Island Tottenville. He is rated as a four-star linebacker by Scout, but likes receiver and will work on there. He is being heavily recruited by Rutgers.
In the 2019 class, recently Ohio State offeree Ronnie Hickman of DePaul will work out as a receiver. He also holds offers from Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Penn State and Boston College.
The position is stacked, and the talent is deep with of the top five players at their position in the region, including Penn State commits Zack Kuntz of Camp Hill (Pa.) High and Patrick Freiermuth of Andover (Mass.) Brooks.
Lindenhurst (N.Y.) Highs Jeremy Ruckert, who is strongly tied to Ohio State, is one of the most sought-after prospects in the nation. His focus is on the Buckeyes, Michigan, Alabama, Florida State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin.
Two of the top players in New York will attend in Erasmus Hall's Matt Jones and Bronx Cardinal Hayes' Qadir White. Jones made a recent visit to Ohio State, which is in excellent position, and is planning a trip to Alabama.
White's offer list includes Penn State, UCLA, Penn State, Miami, Georgia, Rutgers, Minnesota, Boston College and Syracuse.
One of the top 2019 prospects in the region, Princeton (N.J.) Hun's Caeden Wallace, already made several visits to Penn State, which offered. Maryland, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Rutgers also offered.
