William Barnes is preparing to trim his list. The Scout 150 offensive tackle is hoping to narrow things down to ten or 15 in June, but he already has an idea of which schools will make the first cut. Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina and Florida State look like they will make the grade, however, Michigan seems to be moving up in Barnes' eyes in recent weeks.
Next week the four-star lineman from Florida and his Apopka High School team are expected to practice in full pads, and will do so in front of several college coaches. According to Barnes, the Wolverines, the Noles, the Buckeyes, the Gators and the Tar Heels are expected to visit at some point for spring practice.
After his performance at the Opening Orlando regional earlier this year, Scout's Recruiting Analyst, Corey Bender, writes that Barnes, "flashed much-improved body control and balance as well. Barnes is more advanced as a run blocker at this stage in his young career, but certainly stepped up against the best of the best."
Barnes discusses the schools that will make the cut, his upcoming visits, his mind set and more in the video above.
