2019 WR McKinnie-Harper gets first offer, has good UA camp

Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech class of 2019 wide receiver/defensive back Kyron McKinnie-Harper talks about his first scholarship offer.

There is excitement at Detroit Cass Tech over the young talent the Technicians have and class of 2019 wide receiver Kyron McKinnie-Harper is one of their top prospects in that class. He showed his quickness and route-running skills on Saturday at the Under Armour All-America Camp in Cincinnati.

That showing came on the heels of his first scholarship offer, one from the Syracuse Orangemen.

"It was very thrilling," he said. "It felt very good. Through the process, I've been patient for the longest, and it just finally came.

"My dad was excited, my parents and cousins were excited because they know I've been patient and it finally paid off."

Area recruiter Vince Reynolds was at the school last week. McKinnie-Harper has been in contact with Reynolds as much as he can be as a 2019 prospect.

"He's a nice dude," McKinnie-Harper said. "We're from the same neighborhood. He played for the neighborhood school, the school right around me. He's a cool dude."

He has not been to Syracuse yet, but said, "I'll definitely make it up there. I don't have any schedule yet though."

PittsburghPurdue and Iowa State are among the other schools who were at Cass Tech late last week and are showing interest in McKinnie-Harper.
