Davis, a future four-star prospect and 2019 cornerback at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas, is also fresh off a game-changing offer from coach Jim McElwain and the Florida Gators.
"No top (school) as of now, but Florida could be that school in the near future," Davis said. "It's DB U; what's not to like?
"They produce great players at my position year in and year out, and have a great 2019 recruiting class as of now."
Not only is this Davis' first offer from an in-state power, but Florida also has a strong reputation for manufacturing and delivering some of the nation's premier defensive backs.
"My first coaches from three-year-old soccer were UF grads, so they introduced me to Gator life early (laughter)," Davis said. "The offer is big because it's an in-state powerhouse and they continue to produce at my position.
"I have a good relationship with (defensive backs) coach (Corey) Bell. He was also the coach that offered me at FAU, so him becoming the DBs coach at Florida just made it an easy transition for me."
With the spring evaluation period in full swing, Davis says his sole focus is expanding his skill set with dozens of colleges expected to drop into St. Thomas Aquinas over the next couple of weeks.
"Nothing planned as of right now," Davis said. "I am focusing on spring football and performing at my high school.
"I will start planning visits after spring."
