Recruiting Update with Texas Speedster WR Malik Jackson

Wide receiver Malik Jackson is a pure play maker and colleges are starting to notice his skill set. Offers are starting to come in and he has some nice FBS and P5-level schools on his list.

Malik Jackson, 5-foot-7, 163-pound electric slot-receiver has picked up offers from Arkansas State and Sam Houston State. ASU was his first FBS offer.

"It mean a lot to receive an offer to further my education," Jackson said recapping his thoughts on the offer. "Also having the opportunity to play the game I love at the next level."

Jackson is receiving interest from programs like Houston, Illinois, UTSA, Oklahoma State, Florida, Texas State, and Texas

The offer from the Red Wolves has indeed stepped up Jackson's interest in the program.

"Arkansas State," Jackson answered when asked about standouts. "Because me and the coaches have gotten close and they are taking time out of their day to answer any questions that I have for them and telling me the truth."

He was able to work in an unofficial visit to check out Florida in the SEC. The visit had him dreaming of playing for the Gators.

"University of Florida really stood out to me," Jackson said. "The coaches were very straightforward with things and I love that, and they preached about what it takes to be great.

"The campus just felt like the place to be. The football stadium really stood out the most to me because I would see it on TV, but when I actually got the chance to walk on the field I could picture myself playing in 'The Swamp' on Saturdays."

Jackson enjoyed a big junior season as he caught 52 passes for 1,017 yards and 10 touchdowns on 19.6 yards per reception.

"The biggest strengths that I have as a player is giving relentless effort." Jackson said, "and proving doubters wrong. Also studying the game."
