Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines Come Calling for Blue-Chip 2019 DE Derick Hunter, Jr.

The Michigan Wolverines just jumped into the mix with an offer for 2019 Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar defensive end, Derick Hunter, Jr.

Derick Hunter, who recently served up a top five of FloridaFlorida StateMiami (Fl)Iowa State and Oregon, fielded yet another offer on Wednesday when Michigan came calling an opportunity of their own.

A 2019 prospect at Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar, the 6-foot-5, 255-pound Hunter is a future four-star prospect who owns additional offers from Notre DameKentuckySyracuse and NC State among others.

"Tradition," Hunter said. "If you go to Michigan, you play Ohio State every year and that's big. To be coached by one of the best coaches in college football is everything in one.

"(Coach Harbaugh) will get you to the NFL, and that's final. You have to love the dude."

Hunter also hails from the same high school as Shanon Reid, a 2017 linebacker who eventually signed with the Tennessee Volunteers after officially visiting the Wolverines and others.

"He said they make you feel like family," Hunter said. "He said it's really cold up there. He loved the facilities and the coaching staff.

"All of the coaching staff talked to my head coach."

Hunter is inching closer to revealing his highly-anticipated commitment, but a date is not scheduled at this time.

"Not yet but soon," Hunter said when asked about a commitment date. "It's still on my mind."
