Javian Hawkins is hesitant to label one school as the front-runner, but an ACC school is certainly sitting in a good spot after kicking his recruitment into another gear back in February.
"No top school yet, but I would say no doubt Boston College is up front right now," Hawkins said. "They believed in me first to play big-time (football) at the next level.
"(Running backs coach) Brian White has been recruiting me hard. He is very open and an outgoing guy. I can't really say too much about them because I haven't been up there yet, but he's a cool dude from what we talk about and how we communicate.
"I can tell he is very interested, and that's also a key to it."
With the spring evaluation period in full swing, a countless amount of colleges are in the midst of journeying through Florida in hopes of replenishing their roster for the future, including Syracuse, which extended an offer on Monday.
"My favorite movie was actually shot there," Hawkins said. "It's based on a true story about my favorite back ever, Ernie Davis, so I know a few things about them.
"(Quarterbacks) coach (Sean) Lewis caught my attention by the way he approached me and the trip he took to check us out down in Cocoa."
With his stock continuing to climb at a rapid rate, Hawkins is also less than 24 hours removed from being rewarded with his initial SEC offer.
"Mizzou football is very fired up about me also," Hawkins said. "They've reached out many times before this offer. I only saw two coaches in person, but that was all I needed to see to know they were excited about me.
"It seems as if every coach is just as happy as another when it comes to my abilities. I love them."
Hawkins, who has no visits scheduled at this time, says showcasing his talent at a Power Five school is definitely not a guarantee at this stage of the recruiting process.
"Georgia Southern has been in the mix for a while as well, but finally offered," Hawkins said. "(Tight ends) coach (Chad) Lunsford is probably reaching out the most. Him and coach Dimichele are very interested and reaching out to me. I love them as much as I do the other schools you asked about.
"Relationships are just being built, though, so we have to wait it out to see what the future holds and brings."
