Alabama has been very active in the state of Ohio this recruiting cycle, and the Crimson Tide has issued several offers in the Buckeye state for both the 2018 and 2019 classes.
Thursday afternoon, 2019 defensive end Steven Faucheux learned he was offered by Alabama, and that offer certainly resonated with one of the Midwest's top prospects.
"This offer means a lot to me because of all the success Alabama has had over the years, and it's one of the schools I started watching as a little kid," Faucheux stated. "It's exciting because even the people who hate Alabama have to respect their success and where they are as a program."
"Alabama represents the very best in college football and they put a lot of players in the NFL. Not a lot of schools can say that," he added. "I think me being a Lakota West kid and having watched Ryan Kelly become a first round draft pick from there makes it even more impressive to me."
"I hope to make it down there soon and have conversations with the coaches to see how they see me fitting in," he continued. "I want to learn more about the school and maybe talk to Ryan Kelly again if he visits my school. Coach (Derrick) Ansley visited my school Thursday and asked my coach to have me call him. That's when I was offered."
Faucheux is now approaching a double digit offer list. We will continue to track his recruitment at Scout over the next two years.
