Colleges are always on the lookout for the do-it-all defenders who dish out the punishment standing up and with their hand in the dirt, with Ricky WIlliams being one who certainly fits the criteria.
"I don't have any top schools right now," Williams said. "I'm waiting until after spring to sit down with my parents to discuss all the schools that have offered me.
"We will then decide on a top five and visit those schools this summer."
It was just roughly 24 hours ago when Syracuse served up Williams' first offer from a school representing the Atlantic Coast Conference.
"Coach Dino Barbers has a great offensive mind," Williams said. "The staff is energetic from what I've seen on television. The defense looks good and I love the way they use their pass rushers.
"I also like the dome; it looks like it's rocking. Coach says he liked my size, film, and the way I get after the QB. (He said) I have great potential and a nice frame."
Williams is still obviously a couple of months out from releasing a list of front-runners, but labels Baylor as the school recruiting him the hardest at this time.
"I like what the staff did at Temple," Williams said. "They developed numerous guys there and I like what they do on defense. They play multiple defenses depending on the down and distance.
"They tell me I can come get coached up and compete. I like the Big 12 Conference because it's a passing league."
Williams has no visits scheduled at this time.
