Even though he already holds over 20 offers as a 2019 prospect, Akron Hoban offensive lineman Nolan Rumler landed an offer last week that certainly caught him by surprise.
Rumler, one of the top 2019 prospects in the Midwest, was offered by Alabama after Crimson Tide assistant coach Derrick Ansley visited Hoban High School.
"Getting the Alabama offer was very shocking because I wasn't aware they even knew who I was," Rumler stated. "It's probably the best offer you can have for college, and it's very exciting to me. I will be down there this summer."
"I had not been talking to them, but Coach Ansley was in the school and told my coach I had the offer," he added. "I followed up with him by phone later that night, and it was a good conversation. He said they're very interested in me as a player."
"Since it's Alabama they go right up to the top of my list with some other schools," he admitted. "I want to go visit there so I can really see for myself how they fit for me. It's a school I've watched on big games year after year, so it's a dream offer for me."
