Ohio Lineman Tate Goodyear Receiving College Looks

Even though Cincinnati Sycamore two-way lineman Tate Goodyear might not be a household name in Ohio just yet, college coaches are aware of his vast talents. He holds several smaller offers.

There were several great performances by highly rated defensive linemen at the recent Under Armour camp in Cincinnati, but underrated Sycamore High School defensive tackle Tate Goodyear also impressed at the event.

Goodyear, who also plays quite well as an offensive lineman for his high school, showed great strength and was able to come off the ball quickly at Under Armour.

"Last year was my first time playing both ways, but it was a transition for me," Goodyear stated. "It was my first time playing offensive line, and by the end of the year things had gone really well."

"I think I could play either side of the ball at the next level, and every school seems to have a different perspective on where they think I would be best for them," he added.

Goodyear holds several smaller offers, as well as a few MAC offers, but he is starting to hear from a few Power Five programs. A true student-athlete, Goodyear also holds several Ivy League offers.

"I do have 14 offers right now," Goodyear explained. "I have visited Yale and Marshall right now of the schools that have offered, and I liked both a lot. I need to get out and see more schools this summer."

"I'm looking for a school that has a mixture of academics and football, but education is very important to me and my family," he admitted. "I'm also hearing from Iowa State, and they have been to my school. I've also been talking with Duke, and they've also been to my school."

"I'd like to commit before my season, but I haven't really thought too much about that," he concluded.
