2019 CB Nyquee Hakwins shares thoughts on Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Stanford

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Class of 2019 cornerback Nyquee Hawkins is is making visits, and he spoke about them with Scout.

Evaluation: Class of 2019 cornerback Nyquee Hawkins from Orange (N.J.) High spent a lot of time playing safety at The Opening at the New York Jets' practice facility, and his talent and passion came through. He made quick reads and was able to cover down the field, and even without pads he was physical in going after the ball.

He tracked the ball well and his loose hips made for a seamless transition from backpedal to turning and running. He drives on the ball well.

He is athletic, has plus stop-start ability and he shows closing speed. He needs to continue to develop his technique. His backpedal is good, but his talent really comes out when he drives on the ball in front of him. He also is smooth in turning and running with a receiver down the field.
