Kam Scott, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound wide receiver from Manvel (Texas) has compiled an impressive offer list with schools coming in like Baylor, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisville, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Tulsa, Bowling Green, UMass, and North Texas.
He is not currently in football full time as he is one of the state's top track stars and will help lead a talented Manvel squad in the 4x200 and 4x400 at the UIL Track & Field State Meet.
"I am running track right now, I will start back up (football) after state," Scott said.
It (recruiting) is going good right now. A lot of coaches are talking to me and everything. I am getting close to narrowing it down to the list of schools that I am going to be looking at going to."
While Scott has yet to narrow his focus to a set list of programs he does have some schools on his list that have ramped up an interest in him and those are starting to separate from the pack.
They throw the ball and any school that throws the ball I am going to like, because of course I am a wide receiver, so I want to see a school that throws the ball more."
As a junior, Scott gained 577 yards from scrimmage and scored five total touchdowns for a 13-1 Manvel team that reached the Texas 5A D-I state quarterfinals. He caught 27 passes for 438 yards and three TD's on 16.2 yards per reception, while rushing for 139 yards and two scores on 12.6 yards per carry.
