Tyler Friday, the No. 7 defensive end in the 2018 class, began to make his impact as a defensive player as a junior at Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco, so as he refines his technique, his ability continues to rise.
During The Opening Regional at the New York Jets' practice facility, Friday demonstrated his explosion, and when he drives up the field, his ability to stay low and use his power to get the offensive lineman off balance. There were times when he stutter-stepped and wasted time, but with experience that should change.
After measuring in at 6-foot-3, 263 pounds, Friday showed his quick feet and his flexibility, which allowed him to dip his shoulder and get around the corner. He has lateral quickness, and there were instances he used his hands well. When Friday used fast hands to disengage, he exploded up the field and was quick getting to the quarterback.
