3-Star Safety Lance Robinson Approaches 20 Offers as New P5 Programs Reach Out

Lance Robinson, one of the top safeties in the state of Louisiana's 2018 class, talked to Scout about his recruitment so far and schools that have started showing increased interest.

With almost 20 FBS offers in hand, 2018 three-star safety Lance Robinson from New Orleans De La Salle has plenty of options to play football at the next level.

However, the 18 offers he owns definitely will not be the last.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Robinson holds offers from programs such as ArizonaKansasKansas StateWashington StateMemphis, and numerous others. All of Robinson's offers have come this semester.

"It's a great and real humbling experience," Robinson said, "but I still need to get better and prove people wrong."

Robinson said numerous programs have shown recent interest in addition to the schools that have already offered. Arizona StateArkansasOle MissTexas A&MTexas TechTexas, TCUGeorgia Tech, and Iowa State are new schools that have reached out.

"Coach (Paul) Rhoads from Arkansas is telling me I'll play corner and he'll come in and watch me in our spring game," Robinson said. "Coach (Ron) Cooper from A&M said I'll play safety. Coach (Jason) Washington at Texas wants me to play nickel, and coach (Bradley Dale) Peveto at Ole Miss wants me to play safety."

Kansas State and Tulane, both of which have offered Robinson, are the only schools he's gotten to visit so far this spring semester. Robinson said he hopes to make some more visits soon.

"I really want to visit all of my Power Five schools that have offered and are going to offer during the summer," Robinson said.

Which offer could be next? TCU is a possibility as Robinson has heard from defensive coordinator/safeties coach Chad Glasgow.

"TCU is real close (to offering)," Robinson said. "Coach Chad said he wants me to play safety for him.

"Arkansas as well. They have been on me since the start of my junior year. They should be (offering) soon as well."

Scout ranks Robinson as the No. 6 safety in Louisiana, which is loaded at safety in the 2018 cycle with double-digit Power Five-caliber safety prospects.

At The Opening New Orleans in March, Robinson tested very well, running a laser-timed 4.62 40 and a shuttle of 4.12 seconds. He also recorded an impressive 39.1-inch vertical.

Robinson said he's trying to get to the 185-pound range for his senior season as he tries to help his team to a championship. Stick with Scout as we continue to monitor Robinson's development and recruitment.
