ACC, Big Ten and SEC powers competing for nation's No. 7 OLB K'Vaughan Pope

Matthews, N.C. -- Four-star Dinwiddie (Va.) outside linebacker K'Vaughan Pope is one of the most sought-after prospects in the country and he spoke with Scout at The Opening Charlotte about the latest developments in his recruitment.

Last month, K'Vaughan Pope released a top ten last month.

However, five schools are in the best shape.

"The main schools are ClemsonOhio StateFloridaFlorida State and Michigan State," said the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Pope. "All five are great programs and I feel like I could be very successful at each."

According to Pope, Ohio State is recruiting him hardest.

"It definitely means a lot that they're showing so much interest," Pope said. "Out of all the schools recruiting me, I'd say I've developed the closest relationship with (linebackers) coach (Bill) Davis. Coach Davis is a down to earth guy and he's always honest with me.

"I actually visited a few weeks ago and it went well. I had a chance to sit down and talk with coach (Urban) Meyer one-on-one and that was great. He told me to keep working hard and that Ohio State is a great place. I'll probably go back and visit again this summer."

What is next for Pope?

"I'm not sure when I'll make my commitment, but I know I want to take some official visits," Pope said.

"The deciding factors are going to be which school will set me up best for life after football and academics."
