It Has Been a Whirlwind of an Offseason for Rutgers DB Commit Rachad Wildgoose, Jr.

Rachad Wildgoose, Jr., a Miami-based defensive back who is committed to Rutgers, reeled in a "dream" scholarship offer on Thursday.

With no drama involved, Rachad Wildgoose Jr. recently pulled the trigger by committing to Rutgers after having just a single scholarship offer to consider.

Now, nearly three weeks later, the Miami (Fla.) Northwestern defensive back is skyrocketing up big boards with nearly a dozen offers coming his way, including one from childhood favorite Florida, which offered on Thursday.

"UF is a great school and that's my dream school growing up, so getting an offer from them feels great," Wildgoose said. "I like the fact that they get DBs into the NFL every year and have a great DB tradition.

"They just told me that (defensive coordinator) coach (Randy) Shannon has been watching me for a long time and wants to give me an offer. Coach Shannon says they are very interested in me."

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Wildgoose is also just roughly 24 hours removed from receiving the green light from coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.

"I like Georgia a lot," Wildgoose said. "They are one of the schools I plan to visit soon, and I got the offer during practice after our one-on-one drills.

"I talk to (wide receivers) coach (James) Coley and (defensive coordinator) coach (Mel) Tucker."

Coach Chris Ash's program took a chance on Wildgoose before anyone else, and is echoing that with additional suitors knocking on the door with a purpose.

"Rutgers is still No. 1, but I also like UF, UGA, Maryland and NC State," Wildgoose said. "They (Rutgers) just tell me they believed in me first and that they're home."

Wildgoose has no visits scheduled at this time.
