Rasheed Walker had a top six, but the number of schools trying to land the Scout 300 offensive tackle is expanding.
Notre Dame was the latest to offer, and he is planning summer visits to Florida and LSU. Those are added to the North Point (Md.) Waldorf offensive tackle's top six of Penn State, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio State, Rutgers and Virginia Tech.
Walker, the No. 14 offensive tackle in the 2018 class, is coveted because of his size and high ceiling. He measured in at 6-foot-6, 295 pounds at the recent The Opening Regional at Centreville High, and his raw talent was on display (clips are in the video player at the top of the page).
In playing right tackle, Walker used his length well, and he played with a nasty streak. He needs to be more consistent with his hand placement, and more patient so he does not reach and get off balance. Sitting back in a base will serve him well, and when his initial punch is on target, he wins reps easily.
Walker moves his feet well and he is able to kick step to cover the outside edge. His technique breaks down at times and he crosses his feet, but his athleticism allows him to recover.
