Three-Star WR Romeo Doubs Hoping To Visit Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State and UNLV

Los Angeles (Calif.) Jefferson wide out Romeo Doubs is one of the hottest receivers in the state and is closing in double digit scholarship offer.

Wide receiver Romeo Doubs is a sleeper no longer and his stock has really taken off in the last month.

We first saw Doubs at the Pylon 7v7 tournament in Las Vegas back in February and he was one of the top players we saw that weekend. Fast forward a few weeks later to the Opening Regional Camp in Los Angeles and Doubs again impressed, making our all-surprise team following the event.

At 6-3, Doubs has good size, an athletic frame and runs very well. He has excellent body control and can jump over smaller defensive back, is a natural pass catcher and really competes hard. On top of that, he has very good film, showing next level speed and athleticism.

So why was he flying under the radar for so long? A big part of the reason is because his film, which we described as very good, is predominately of Doubs at quarterback. There wasn't a ton of receiver film out there but now that schools are able to come and see him in person, his stock is taking off.

Doubs is up to nine scholarship offers with five of them coming in this past week. The Hawaii Warriors were his most recent offer and the New Mexico LobosSan Diego State AztecsUNLV Rebels and San Jose State Spartans all offered this week as well.

The Boston College EaglesNevada Wolf PackNew Mexico State Aggies and Tulane Green Wave had all previously offered and the athlete said Notre Dame has been showing recent interest as well.

"I'm very excited about where things are at right now for me," Doubs said. "It shows that all the hard work I've been putting in is paying off. A year ago, I never knew if I would ever have this opportunity. I had people telling me this was possible and I just needed an opportunity to put myself out there and God gave me that opportunity so I'm blessed to be in this situation."

Doubs said he is hoping to take a few visits this summer if he can.

"The schools I'm talking the most with right now are Nevada, San Jose State and San Diego State," Doubs said. "I want to try and visit those schools for sure along with UNLV, they have been talking to me a lot as well. I still want to take my official visits in the fall so I'm not looking to make an early commitment.

"The biggest factors in my decision are location and finding a school that can make me better and prepare me for the next level. I want a school that can better me as a person too and then location wise, I would like to stay close to home if I can. I would like to stay close to my family but I'm just looking where I'll be comfortable and the best overall fit for me."
