Kenan Jones, 2018 WR, Berwick (La.)

Size: 6-3, 198

Recruiting: Jones was previously an LSU commitment in late January, but re-opened his recruitment about a month later. Jones re-committed Saturday to the Tigers, who he chose over offers from Auburn, Florida State, Louisville, Ole Miss, Oregon State, and several other FBS programs.

Rankings: Scout ranks Jones as the No. 251 overall prospect in the 2018 Scout 300, as well as the No. 48 receiver in the country. Jones is the No. 4 receiver in the state of Louisiana's 2018 class, which is loaded at the receiver position.

Stats

2016: Jones finished his junior season with 48 catches for 934 yards and 10 touchdowns on 19.4 yards per reception.

Evaluation notes

Kenan Jones is a big-framed receiver who's comfortable lining up wide or in the slot and can make plays from either spot. Jones possesses a big frame that will make him a matchup problem for most defensive backs at the next level.

He's a strong, physical receiver, especially after the catch, where he maximizes his touches as often as possible. Jones combines that run-after-catch strength with impressive long speed. In fact, at 6-foot-3, 198 pounds, Jones tested at 4.59 in the 40 in March 2017 at The Opening Dallas.

Jones can improve his get-off at the line of scrimmage, but his size/frame potential allows him to sometimes out-muscle defensive backs even when he doesn't get the best jump at the snap. He's not a make-you-miss receiver in space, but is great at getting "dirty yardage" as he's a tough tackling assignment in the open field because of his size and strength.

The state of Louisiana's 2018 receiver class is very deep and talented, and Jones near the top of that special group. - Gabe Brooks
