Solomon Tuliaupupu has made a smooth transition to Mater Dei after transferring in from Claremont (Calif.) in the off-season.
The Monarchs are loaded this year and Tuliaupupu adds size, strength and toughness to a defense that lost a handful of starters off last years squad. We love the versatility to his game as Tuliaupupu has the ability to play inside or outside 'backer. He can rush the passer, is comfortable in space and really excels in the run game.
On the recruiting front, the 'backer took visits over Spring Break to Alabama, Ohio State and Oregon. He said the next trip he plans to take will be to see the Oklahoma Sooners and both local schools, UCLA and USC remain involved here as well.
Mater Dei won the 32Cares 7on7 Tournament on Saturday and Tuliaupupu played his usual tough, physical style. You can tell the athlete has to really hold back in the one-hand touch format as his game is really suited for knocking heads with the pads on.
Tuliaupupu talked at the event about his recent visits, timeframe for narrowing down his list and when he wants to make a decision.
