Evaluation Notes: Scout traveled up and down the state of Alabama last week but there was only one prospect we shot isolation video of during in a game setting -- Coynis Miller. The class of 2018 defensive tackle from Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin has become quite the commodity over the last year or so, emerging as a top defensive tackle recruit because of his athleticism, growing size, power and more.

As a defensive lineman, he is still coming into his own although he faced something in game action he will see throughout 2017, double teams. Sometimes a third blocker made his way over to Miller, so his technique and leverage responsibility will be tested as a senior. He passed against Center Point (Ala.), occupying more than one blocker without giving much ground and collapsing the pocket or holding contain on the edge when freed up against one blocker. His quickness and ability at the point of contact make him a good prospect, but his athleticism and explosion take his game to the next level. On several occasions during one half of football, Miller pushed the pocket and tried to get his hands on the football near the quarterback's release point, even getting some air in the process. Few 300-pounders move like the rising senior and it is why he is one of the best in the South.

Recruiting Notes: Miller is coveted by programs coast to coast, including AlabamaAuburnClemsonMichiganOregon and others. He claims no leaders at this time.
