Gant, the number-ten ranked outside linebacker in America, chose Ohio State over Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Penn State. He is the second in-state commit for the Buckeyes, following Westerville South athlete Jaelen Gill.
With Ohio State looking to take at least three linebackers in the 2018 class, Gant fills a need for head coach Urban Meyer. He has tremendous versatility, and Gant could play any of the three linebacker spots in Columbus.
Prior to the Gant pledge, Ohio State held the fourth spot in the national recruiting rankings. Gant is the tenth commit in a class that could number as high as 25.
Scout will have more on the Gant commitment, including video comments from the player, later in the day.
