Craig Young

Three-sport 2019 star gets Hoosier football offer

Fort Wayne (Ind.) Wayne class of 2019 wide receiver Craig Young has all of the tools to be a big-time college prospect and his home-state Indiana Hoosiers have already recognized that with an offer. Learn more about him here.

Wayne High School's Craig Young could quickly turn into one of the Midwest's most heavily recruited class of 2019 prospects.

Last week, Indiana became the first school to offer him a scholarship, and while he says he is not currently hearing from any other colleges, his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame, the athleticism to average nearly 16 points per game on the basketball court this season, and the speed to compete as a sprinter on the track team, there is little doubt he will be hearing from many more schools soon.

For now, Young is ecstatic to have the opportunity presented to him by the Hoosiers.

"To get my first offer, I was surprised," Young said. "I didn't want to believe it at first. My stomach was empty. I was just happy."

He added, "I have never been to IU, but being from Indiana, I have love for IU and the football program is just amazing. I believe IU is on a good come-up."

Young said he is also being recruited for basketball and track.

With the June camp season about to begin, he has plans to work with two other Midwestern programs.

"For this summer, I have the Illinois camp and the Notre Dame camp and that's about it."
