Cam Goode showed off his quickness, explosion and power during last month's The Opening Regional at Centreville High as he continues to battle size perception verse production.
Goode is the No. 1 defensive tackle in Washington, D.C., and after measuring in at 6-foot, 317 pounds, the St. John's prospect demonstrated why he is rated high.
In 1-on-1s, Goode was quick at the snap of the ball, he was quick with his hands and was powerful, and he got up the field fast. The combination of lower body strength and a nice pad level allowed Goode to get inside the offensive lineman and drive him backward.
His hand placement was good, and he was quick to disengage and move toward the backfield. His footwork was clean, and he played balanced.
Goode recently told Scout he spoke the most with Arizona, Michigan State, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, but Rutgers is pushing back into the mix. He made a weekend visit to campus after performing at a local camp.
