David Baldwin is one of the top quarterback prospects in the West Coast 2019 class.
He's a dual-threat signal caller with a big arm and can stress a defense with his legs as well. The southpaw was impressive at the 32Cares 7v7 event in Los Alamitos (Calif.) Saturday, leading Upland to a surprise berth in the championship before falling to a loaded Mater Dei squad.
We've seen Baldwin a ton this winter on the 7v7 circuit playing with Ground Zero and this past weekend was the best we have seen him. He looked confident and poised, made smart decisions with the football and had several clutch throws late in games to win games for Upland.
If Baldwin can continue to improve his consistency, he has a chance to develop in to a very next level player as the physical tools are all there.
On the recruiting front, Baldwin holds offers from the Arizona Wildcats, Colorado State Rams, Oregon State Beavers and Utah Utes and is hearing from several other schools as well including the Colorado Buffaloes, Miami (Fl) Hurricanes, Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns and USC Trojans.
Baldwin is planning to take several spring visits and participate in a handful of summer camps as well.
